The Yamei Camellia Oleifera Museum is the largest camellia-fruit-shaped museum in China featuring Camellia Oleifera. It was grandly opened on the morning of December 18, 2023. It fully displays the development history and industrial construction achievements of Youxian Camellia Oleifera, and has become an important window for the promotion of Youxian Camellia Oleifera.
The Yamei Camellia Oleifera Museum is affiliated to Hunan Yamei Camellia Oil Co., Ltd., which is the country's first industrial 5.0 smart unmanned camellia oil factory. After winning the title of the 10th "National Safe Grain and Oil Demonstration Project Demonstration Enterprise" in 2021, it was again selected as the 13th batch of safe grain and oil enterprises in Hunan Province this year. In the form of company + cooperative + farmers, more than 280,000 mu of organic camellia oleifera bases have been built, driving more than 20,000 farmers in the surrounding areas to increase their income.

The Yamei Camellia Oleifera Museum is divided into two parts, using the ancient traditional cultural model to allow people to immerse themselves in it and understand the production process of camellia oleifera in ancient times. At the same time, it also allows the entire camellia oleifera production process to come alive before your eyes.

The waterwheel is an ancient water-lifting irrigation tool. In the ancient oil pressing method, water flow impacts the waterwheel to drive the millstone, crushing the camellia seeds in the stone trough.

The millstone is a grinding tool that uses human or animal power to shell or grind grains into powder. Put the sun-dried or fried camellia seeds into the millstone groove, and turn it to grind the camellia seeds into powder.

As an ancient handicraft, the steamer has been handed down to this day. The ground camellia powder is put into the steamer and steamed. In order to prevent the water vapor from condensing and dripping on the camellia seed powder, the steamer needs to be covered with gauze. During the steaming period, water should be continuously added to the pot to make up for the loss.

The wooden press is an essential tool for oil pressing in ancient times. The steamed camellia powder is wrapped into camellia cakes and put into the wooden dragon press. Then the hitting stone (or hitting rod) is pushed by manpower to hit the wooden wedge. As the wedge is driven into the pressing chamber, the horizontal wooden blocks in the pressing chamber squeeze the camellia cake. The camellia oil that comes out at this time is called "raw camellia oil" and is already edible.

On the other side of this ancient path is a modern model. The big screen displays Yamei Industrial Tourism, Garden-style Tourism Factory Tour, Garden-style Tourism Factory Tour, and Ten Thousand Mu Camellia Oleifera Manor Ecological Demonstration Park. Standing at a fixed point, you can control the screen with gestures, allowing tourists to roam and shuttle freely in the camellia oleifera Manor.
What you can see in the camellia oleifera forest is that the camellia oil is very bright yellow and smells very mellow. Camellia oil is known as "the best edible oil in the world" because of its rare resources and benefits to human health, and has always been a royal tribute.

With the development and progress of the times, many children are unable to see and feel the life that the older generation experienced. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you bring your children to visit our Yamei Camellia Oleifera Museum to learn about the process of camellia oil from sowing to fruiting and then becoming edible. This will be an unprecedented experience.
