Camellia oil is a kind of edible oil that people welcome, mainly due to the high nutritional value of camellia oil. As the temperature rises in summer and the environment is sultry, friends who like camellia oil know how much they know about how to preserve camellia oil ?

We know that camellia oil itself has relatively strong antioxidant capacity and has a much longer shelf life than ordinary cooking oil. In order to ensure the quality and freshness of camellia oil, try to use it up within 3-6 months after opening. In summer, the temperature is high. In order to avoid affecting the original taste of camellia oil, how should we store camellia oil?

01   Store away from light
Because ultraviolet rays and infrared rays can oxidize oil and accelerate the formation of harmful substances, the container for storing oil should be placed in a cool, dark, dry, and low temperature place, and minimize contact with air and sunlight.
02      Anti-high temperature
The best storage temperature of camellia oil is 10-25°C, generally it should not exceed 25°C. The place with the highest temperature in the house in summer is the kitchen, so when we are not cooking, it is best to put cooking oil in the fresh-keeping layer of the refrigerator, so that the quality of camellia oil will not be damaged by high temperature. Camellia oil at low temperature will have milky white flocculent crystals, which is a normal phenomenon and does not affect consumption. It will disappear naturally when the external temperature is high.

03  Reasonable choice of container
Camellia oil is generally packed in glass bottles, which are highly airtight, and plastic pots are not recommended. Plastic pots are not resistant to high temperatures, and their corrosion resistance and aging resistance are not as good as glass bottles.
04  Do not mix used oil with new oil
After the camellia oil is heated at high temperature for a long time, water and food residues are mixed in the frying process, the quality of the camellia oil will change and the nutrition will decrease; do not mix the used camellia oil with new oil, as mixing will accelerate the rate of oxidative rancidity of the new oil.

05  Do not mixed with water

The camellia oil cannot be mixed with water, otherwise, the oil will be easily emulsified, turbid and deteriorated.
Finally, after using the camellia oil, don’t forget to cover the cap. Only by tightening the cap can the oxidation reaction between the camellia oil and the air be effectively avoided and its unique flavor maintained.
