Research progress on the medicinal use of camellia oil in modern medicine
(I) Protective effect on cardiovascular system
1. Regulating blood lipids and blood pressure: A large number of clinical studies and animal experiments have shown that unsaturated fatty acids in camellia oil, especially oleic acid, can effectively regulate blood lipid levels. It can reduce the levels of total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol in the blood, while increasing the level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, thereby reducing the risk of atherosclerosis. In addition, some bioactive ingredients in camellia oil, such as tea polyphenols and squalene, also have a certain antihypertensive effect. They can dilate blood vessels, reduce vascular resistance, and increase vascular elasticity, thereby keeping blood pressure within the normal range. Long-term consumption of camellia oil can help prevent and treat cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension and hyperlipidemia, and protect the health of the cardiovascular system.
2. Anti-platelet aggregation and thrombosis: Platelet aggregation and thrombosis are important links in the development of cardiovascular diseases. Studies have found that certain components in camellia oil have the effect of inhibiting platelet aggregation and can reduce the formation of thrombi. For example, tea polyphenols in camellia oil can inhibit the activity of platelets by inhibiting certain signaling pathways in platelets, thereby inhibiting platelet aggregation. In addition, unsaturated fatty acids in camellia oil can also regulate the fluidity and function of platelet membranes, reduce platelet adhesion and aggregation, and reduce the risk of thrombosis. These effects are of great significance for preventing thrombotic diseases such as myocardial infarction and stroke.
