With the approval of the Hunan Provincial People's Government, the Hunan Oil Tea Festival, jointly organized by the Provincial Forestry Bureau and the municipal and prefectural governments, is held every two years.
Oil tea is a woody edible oil-bearing tree species unique to my country, playing a vital role in maintaining national grain and oil security and promoting rural revitalization. As my country's largest oil tea producing province, Hunan has vigorously promoted the development of the industry, resulting in the continuous expansion of the industry, the improvement of its structure, and the gradual realization of its benefits. By the end of 2024, the province had 23.71 million mu of oil tea forests, an annual tea oil production of 440,000 tons, and an annual total output value of 93.4 billion yuan, all ranking first in China. Nearly one million farmers were involved in oil tea production.
You County is known as the "Hometown of Camellia Oil in China." The theme of this year's Camellia Oil Festival is "Technology Empowers Camellia Oil, Innovation Leads the Future." The festival will feature an opening ceremony, exhibitions and sales of camellia oil products and machinery, camellia oil food tastings, and on-site demonstrations. The opening ceremony will feature interactive interviews with scholars and entrepreneurs. The exhibition and sales of camellia oil products and machinery will showcase authorized products from "Hunan Camellia Oil," along with camellia oil products and derivatives from across Hunan, scientific research achievements, and camellia oil machinery. The camellia oil food tasting will focus on the theme of "The Taste of Camellia Oil," featuring chefs from Sichuan, Hunan, and Guangdong provinces showcasing classic dishes prepared with camellia oil. The on-site demonstrations will cover the entire process of camellia oil seedling cultivation, planting, and processing, highlighting modern, fully intelligent production lines for camellia oil and the deep integration of "forestry, culture, and tourism" with artificial intelligence.
